Those that use it probably already know, but the Ubiquity AutoSMS command does not function with the most recent versions of Ubiquity. Due to the rate at which the product is updated as it moves out of beta, I've decided not to try and keep up, but will instead do an update when the platform is stable. If you would like to try the AutoSMS Ubiquity command, you'll need to use an early version of Ubiquity (pre 0.1.5 to be safe), or if you're a developer, feel free to modify the script yourself. It, like the toolbar, is very Open Source.

AutoSMS version 0.4.6 with support for Firefox 3.5 has been submitted to Mozilla for approval. In the meantime you can download it directly from this link. Alternatively, 0.4.5 has been modified to support Firefox 3.5.

You can now use AutoSMS from Ubiquity with the SMS command. This makes sending messages as simple as typing "sms [message] to [user]" into the Uqibuity command line where "user" is a uniquely identifiable portion of someone's name is your AutoSMS phonebook. If you don't know Ubiquity, go check it out and install it here, then come back and subscribe to the SMS command.

After a long hiatus, 2 way messaging has been re-enabled. It took some engineering hoop jumping but we've managed to get a system which surpasses it's predecessor in reliability, speed and functionality. New features are in the pipeline which will leverage 2-way messaging so we're pleased to have the platform up and running.

You can now view all messages sent and received to and from your AutoSMS account. Visit the Members page to view and manage your current messages.

Due to a broken forum (yes, I do plan to get to it) and a noticeable amount of comments being posted to my personal blog, I've put together a quick and dirty feedback system for AutoSMS (it's there on your right). Use it to leave comments 100 characters or less. I'll be notified of each comment and will address them there or as a news post if it's important enough.

AutoSMS messages will now be sent from the new URL textr.us. This is the first step in the development of a distributed messaging architecture and an overall re branding of the project. More details will be posted here as things develop.

The current AutoSMS API which allows developers to leverage the AutoSMS engine has been fully documented with example code provided.
